South Africa Holiday - Knysna
Description
 Knysna (Courtesy of SATO)
The small town of Knysna is one of the most attractive visits on the Garden Route, nestled on the banks of a picturesque lagoon, surrounded by indigenous forests, lakes and beaches, and with fabulous ocean and inland views from both the Eastern and Western heads which form the entrance from the Indian Ocean into the lagoon . Explore the lagoon by water taxi, cruise across it to the Featherbed Nature Reserve or perhaps ride across it on the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe as the famous steam train leaves on its daily (except Sunday) journey to Wilderness and George. Visit too the Knysna waterfront shops and restaurants, perhaps tasting the local oysters for which the town is known. |
