South Africa Holiday - Hermanus

Description

Hermanus (Courtesy of SATO)

Hermanus, South Africa's "whale-watching capital" is situated about an hour's drive from Cape Town, and famous for sightings of Southern Right Whales as they migrate from southern oceans to calve in warmer waters. Whale watching cruises are available but the whales are often clearly to be seen from cliff-top walks and the charming holiday and fishing port even has its own Whale Crier to alert visitors to sightings. The whale-watching "season" is from June until the end of October.
