South Africa Holiday - Port Elizabeth
Description
Port Elizabeth lies at the eastern end of the Garden Route and is a convenient start point for self-drive holidays heading west along the Garden Route to Cape Town. Nearby the Tsitsikamma National Park consists of a rugged coast and lush forests with massive trees, some over 800 years old. Famous long distance hiking trails such as the Otter Trail and Dolphin Trail begin here. East of Port Elizabeth the unspoiled coastal scenery continues as the Wild Coast with friendly, picturesque villages, lush indigenous forests and great beaches popular for fishing, sailing, diving, surfing and hiking.
Port Elizabeth itself has a range of beaches, excellent golf courses and provides easy access to a number of malaria-free private game parks in the area. Best known are Shamwari, Addo Elephant National Park, Lalibela, and the Mountain Zebra National Park. |
